HOUSTON (March 29, 2023) – Four different teams came away with event championships at the 2023 State Farm College Team Skills and 3X3U Championships on Wednesday night, the first night of action inside Hoops House at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston. Each of the winning teams took home $5,000 for their event victories.

In the Celsius Obstacle Course final, Toledo’s JT Shumate helped Team Sky-Walkers to the event title, mastering the series of obstacles in a quick 14.1 seconds. Drexel’s Keishana Washington led the way in a runner-up finish for Team LoneStars, clocking a second-place time of 19.0 seconds.  

The championship round of the Applebee’s Team Shootout turned into a 3-point shooting spectacle from Alabama’s Brittany Davis, who buried nine 3-point shots to give Team LoneStars 27 points and a narrow one-point victory over Team Souljas, which finished with 26 points.

The women’s final of the 3X3U National Championship went to overtime, when Bre’Amber Scott hit a desperation 2-point shot as the shot clock expired to give Team Dream a thrilling 20-19 victory over Team LoneStars.

In the men’s final of the 3X3U National Championship, Team Hoopers was able to build an early lead and hold off a late rally by Team Sky-Walkers, finishing with a 20-17 win.

All of Wednesday’s highlights will be featured in ESPN2’s coverage of the event on Sunday at 9 p.m. CT. Sean Farnham, Robbie Hummel and Shelby Coppedge will call the action.

Festivities continue Thursday at Hoops House inside the Bayou Music Center when the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships begins at 6:30 p.m. CT. ESPN2 will carry the event live. Friday will feature the Rocket Mortgage High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at 7 p.m., which CBS will air on Sunday at 1p.m. Tickets are available for both events by visiting www.houstonhoopshouse.com or the Bayou Music Center box office.
